Aww, thank you! Well, this was my first attempt with watercolors on Fantasy Art. I don't know... I don't know if it was my scanner or something, but I didn't like the result so much. Do you take photos of your paintings or use a scanner? Your colors remain so vivid!
It looks great, I love it, I think your watercolour technique is great and very professional !! My scanner works quite well, but sometimes it catches all the gradients very unmercifuly, roughly and they look sharp. So sometimes (in 5% cases) I have to take photos, because the camera can catch gradients better. Despite there are many disadvantages of taking photos...So I scan more often.
Amazing work on the fur! I thinkest that I would not wish to have those mighty antlers pointed at me, but Thranduil is a special sort of elf, so maybe he is even more in tune with nature and animals then other elves, since you don't see elves from Imladris riding such creatures . Lovely art!
Yes, I'd be so afraid too. And you said something that let me more "in" with Sindar (and Silvan) elves than the elves of Imladris. I think the last ones are creepy and boring. Elves like Thranduil and related seem to me more "informal" and connected with nature Thank you so much for your comment!
Phew, at last I have some more time to have a closer look. I like the mood that soft colors gave to it, I can imagine they met at the dawn, when everyone is sleeping but them and the forest. So much work! I really admire you to be so patient!
Really, I tried to give a dawn atmosphere here (with the white pastels). I did some mist here, but the photo didn't captured it. But well. Ugh... 8 hours and I started become so nervous with this one... I could give more details on it... but I was too eager to show to the world this idea.
Eight hours would kill me, I'm too impatient for such extreme sports! With this scan the mist is easier to notice, but pastels gave the right mood anyway, maybe with the previous version it was just a bit softer.
Oh wowwwwww. I like this idea of how they meet. It's like, it shows some humanity (for the lack of better word) in Thranduil's character! And the elk is a bit smaller and Thranduils appearance show how young they are. This is quite lovely.
